Fernando Vilariño is Associate Director of the Computer Vision Centre and Associate Professor of the Univ. Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. He is currently lecturing in Robotics and Open Innovation and Citizen Science in Smart Cities. His research has been linked to diverse areas of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with a particular focus on medical imaging. His current research is focused on the Social Impact of Artificial Intelligence.

He has recently led different projects related to the implementation of a model for Living Labs in the context of Open Innovation, contributing to the systemic transformation of the Network of Public Libraries in Barcelona into knowledge-sharing arenas and innovation hubs. He coordinates the Citizen Science action of the SMATER project in the context of the ECIU European University. He has participated as keynote speaker in main events of the area of living labs and Social Impact of AI.
