James F. Sallis, Ph.D is Professorial Fellow at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne and Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health at University of California San Diego. His current research interests are promoting physical activity and understanding policy and environment influences on physical activity, nutrition, and obesity. This research has been conducted across all age groups in the US and in two age groups internationally. He has authored over 800 scientific publications and is one of the world’s most cited authors in any field. He is currently focusing on getting research used to create healthier cities. Dr. Sallis is a member of the US National Academy of Medicine, and has won numerous national and international awards.
