Lawrence O. Gostin is Distinguished University Professor, Georgetown University’s highest academic rank, and Founding O’Neill Chair in Global Health Law. He directs the World Health Organization Center on National and Global Health Law. He serves on the WHO IHR Review Committee for the revision of the International Health Regulations, and is also advising WHO on drafting of the Pandemic Treaty. He served on high-level advisory committees for the World Health Organization, including WHO reform, smallpox, pandemic influenza, and genomic sequencing data. He has been a leading voice in national and global COVID-19 response, working with WHO and the White House. The Washingtonian Magazine lists him in the 500 most influential people shaping policy in America.
