GREETINGS
We are currently in an era of unprecedented and comprehensive transformation. Our world is plagued by a multitude of "mega-risks," including but not limited to warfare, economic recession, pandemics, and climate change. Additionally, rapid advancements in technology, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and robotics, have led to a convergence of crises that demand urgent recognition and resolution.
This phenomenon, which we have come to call ‘Compound Globalized Risks’, underscores the urgent need for new global governance mechanisms that can effectively address the challenges of this new era. As we navigate the uncharted waters of the post-pandemic world, strong leadership is essential. It is for this reason that we have selected Incheon, which is South Korea's first city to fully integrate ubiquitous computing technology into its infrastructure and services, as the venue for our discussions aimed at developing new initiatives that will contribute to the building of a resilient, regenerative, and thriving city model, ultimately leading to a better world.
It is said that one man's power is weak, but the power of solidarity is strong, and we invite you to join us in Incheon to work towards a safer and more sustainable future.
Thank you.
Chairman of the 1st World Health City Forum
Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City
